This log is just a quick shoutout to a new artist I found that is really inspiring me right now.

Lodestar Trio

I like to listen to classical music while I work. Usually it helps me stay in a deep flow state. However I was working, listening to a classical focus playlist, and I started getting distracted by one of Lodestar Trio’s songs, Sarabande. It was familiar but just not quite right, in a good way, almost as though they had just changed 1% of the song. Sarabande is a rendition of Bach’s Cello Suite No. 6 in D Major, but it has a distinct folk twist. The rest of the album Bach to Folk was amazing and I highly recommend them to anyone! More than just good music Lodestar Trio has really inspired me on creating great derisive works. It’s a common phrase in creative endeavors that there’s nothing new under the sun. It feels really hard sometimes creating without feeling like you’re just stealing someone else’s idea. It’s probably true, that you’ll probably not do something 100% original in your creative work, but that 1% you make your own can make all the difference.
